Hello! practice today was really fun=)

anyways. many of us went to watch the MOB concert on saturday. it was pretty awesome! especially since we could see how our new conductor worked. haha we can definitely learn a lot from the MOB choir=)

e.g.
- SMILEEEEE haha i think many many people have already said this. but seriously guys don't look so serious!
- MOVE AROUND=)
- level ringing
- don't clang bells because that looks unprofessional
- look at the conductor when you're not doing anything...don't stare blankly into space haha!
- BE SHOWYY!

yeah that's all! are you excited for our next performance?=o

Hey guys!

Today was really great! We got lots of people to sign up for handbells (:
All of you were really enthusiastic and friendly when you were promoting handbells to the people and I think that really got them more interested in joining .

I feel that we played quite well today , especially since we only had one practice :D
And maybe it was because we weren't familiar with the score, and that's why it was rather hard to concentrate on playing and smiling at the same time.
But we should smileeeee more next time !! :DDDDD

Thank you for taking so much effort to get more people to sign up! I know that some of you didn't even get to have your recess until REALLY late :p
Hope all of you at least managed to get something to eat during the break!

Oh and you may have read what mengyu posted on fb, please try your best to attend the MOB concert!
And maybe after the concert we can have a little handbells outing (:

So yup, thanks so much again and hope you all enjoyed your first two days of school!!!

Hi dears,

Practice on the 30th was really good. :) I think we achieved quite a lot within that short span of 1h 30 mins and hey, now the song is already at a speed that won't put people to sleep and sounds rather nice together so good job everyone, especially the Sec 1s (now Sec 2s). I know for most of the Sec 1s/Sec 2s, it's the first time that you're going to be performing and I just wanted to say jia you and you all did really great doing the practice, and not to be anxious or nervous even though it's the first time you're going to be playing in front of a big audience. Keep up the good work! And CCA is just going to get more and more exciting and fun :>

We are going to have a new instructor and like what Joanne said, trust is really important and we must trust him to take our great cca to greater heights. But like another thing about trust I felt I wanted to share was that, to be able to give off our best as a cca group and to realize our potential as one ensemble, we have to trust each other as well - being able to place our faith in every member of the handbell choir knowing that we can play up each other's strengths and covering up each other's weaknesses. And I think to do that, we need to be closer and have confidence in everyone. Our cca does not have a lot of people nor are we the most widely known cca, but the unique thing is that every member of our cca has a unique role to play and is indispensable to playing the whole melody. Everyone of us has a note that we are in charge of and without one, the song is no longer complete. And I think that's really the beauty and strength of our cca. SOOO, long sentences cut short, since it's a brand new year and all, my hope for MG Handbells in 2012 is to become a close-knit cca and to realize this beauty, so let us work together and be a bonded cca in the year ahead! <3

SO CCA REGISTRATION IS IN 3 DAYS!

Time: 12 - 2pm

And it's probably one of the most important times of the year for our cca because we need to get as many happy and enthusiastic Sec 1s to join our beautiful and musical cca! It's time to be exaggerated and noisy and basically bug everyone with our very good #reasonsyoushouldjoinhandbells and charm even more people with our fun and light Pick the Winner!

Yup so let's play it with lots of jest and excitement so that our enthusiasm can be translated through our music to them and they will join us! Also, remember to smile widely when you're playing and be friendly. Then right, our cca will look so welcoming and more people will join us yay. Yup but really, it's up to us to show the new MG girls our passion for handbells and the beauty of our cca through the music we make, ringing for the joy of the Lord.♡

Remember to go through your scores and highlight all your notes and internalize them and be familiar with the whole song for CCA registration! Let's make some joyful music in toast of a start of a new cca year! May all of you have a blessed 2012 and may 2012 be the year of greater heights and friendships for MG handbells!

HAHA, I know this is a little late since the exams/tests are ending soon, but I just thought I should update this a little, and wish you all the best for the papers. Hope the papers have been manageable for everyone, and yeah. :)

And this is coming extremely late too, but kudos to all you juniors for planning the Sec Four Farewell. It was very lovely and fun, so thank you for the great day spend and the adorable farewell gift. I'm sure we'll miss each and everyone of you. ♥

Speaking of which though, a sec three needs to pick up this blog soon. (;

And we need to do something about the shirt. ): It's so so overdue.

Well done for Arts Fest guys!

I think all of us did great! Didn't you think so? (:

Sec Fours have a good rest, because you don't have anymore practices for the time being. But please take some time to revise your Psalm of Peace score and memorise it! We only have one practice before the Founder's Day performance, so must work hard!

As for the juniors, the Sec Threes are in charge now, kinda, so continue to teach the younger ones what it truly is like to be ringing for the joy of the Lord!

Just a short reminder.

There are handbell practices this coming Thursday and Friday (23rd and 24th June), from 2pm to 4.30pm. Please report at 1.45pm to set up!

Remember to revise your Zui Zui and Liebesfreud scores because the performance is coming up really soon, so we can't afford to only start revising on Thursday. (:

Hey all, just a short update. Exams are finally over (for the Sec Fours at least, I know all you happy juniors ended WAY earlier), so I hope you guys have gotten your desired results or are satisfied with them. Just continue to work hard! ^^

There won't be handbell practices for the rest of the term, except for those of you performing for the Open House (good luck!). So to all training group peeps, don't need to be too anxious about handbell practice resuming (you all are so cute SMSing me the past two weeks asking if it's resuming), because yes I know you love handbells so much. (; heehee.

Yeap, that's about all. Nothing much.

Oh, and please remember to sell your Arts Fest ticket! $5 only! :D

Hey guys.

I know some of us are upset, maybe even confused as to why we got what we got. But I just want to say that I think we did a good job, a wonderful brilliant job even. Perhaps we could have done better, perhaps we could have smiled more, but all of this "we could have"s doesn't matter because we've put in our best effort, and it's over, so what we got, we accept with open arms. No matter what the judges thought of our performance, I'm sure all of us did our best and we've won that GWH in our hearts.

Besides, considering how much last minute changes there were, I think we were fantastic at adapting despite how drastic the changes were. I'm pretty sure if you heard us one/two weeks ago and during our performance today, you'd think they were different performers all together. (: And this just goes to show our awesomeness!

So cheer up guys! I think we did a really brilliant job, and like Mrs Soo says, don't look back and regret, because no matter what we got, I'm sure God has a purpose for it, and we should look back and smile because we've put in our best effort. (:

Hey guys! Tomorrow's the day! :O The day we've all been working so hard for, the day we've been stressing out so much for; it's finally here!

Does it make you nervous? Terrified? Excited?

I just hope that no matter what we will be feeling tomorrow, or are already feeling right now, we will put in our best like we've never done before, play even better than we've ever played, and just give it our best shot tomorrow. Because like Mrs Soo said, we just have to give our best, and whatever we get, we get. As long as we don't regret anything that we could have done instead, we've won. (':

My apologies all, but we got back an email from Mr Ling, saying that the CCA shirt bases must be either navy blue, white or yellow. ): So I've put in the really final design here, but with a navy blue base instead.

Even though I honestly think the black one is nicer, but. ): Oh well. Navy blue's good too. (:

Hey all!

So I just thought I'd post the final designs for the handbell tee after the discussion a few weeks ago? Because some of you didn't get the email/couldn't see the attachment, and I thought the seniors should have a look too. (:

Here's the front:

The font can be changed if you don't like it/have a nicer font in mind.

And this is the back:

But it has two different designs containing 'MG Handbells' incorporated into the bells.

This one has the MG Handbells outside of the bells.

This one is 'inside' the picture of the bells.

So tell us what you think okay. (: I'm not gonna do the survey/poll thing anymore, 'cause I think it's better if you voice out your opinions on the tagboard so everyone can see it! (:
